100% true pro as a ref or MC, always thought he had an aura about him in the ring…probably THE best MC in my opinion. |

The early 80s was an exciting time to be watching All Star wrestling bills in Bournemouth. Each week it seemed that another star had joined he promotion – John Quinn, Tony St Clair, Rocco, Nagasaki ……….. but as memorable as any of them was the first appearance of John Harris at the Maison Royale. As soon as John stepped into the ring, the fans applauded and greeted him like an old friend. He looked suave, debonair and had a voice like velvet. No screaming and shouting for John – his introductions were word perfect and understated but left the fans shouting for the opening bell to sound. John’s words and appearance commanded total respect and he was the best MC by a mile for me. Please pass on my best wishes to him Neil. Regards Rog |

My very best wishes to the best m.c. this country has ever produced – the words, the delivery, the angles, the stories this man did / can tell would fil a book very worth reading. Always willing to help anyone involved inside or outside of the squared circle and a big factor with his connections in the rise of All Star Promotions when they changed their name from Wrestling Enterprises I will never forget the appreciation he received on two big occassions at the Fairfield Hall Croydon – the first when Brian Dixon promoted his first show there and John walked down the steps of the dressing room nd climbed into the ring – the second was the standing ovation frm wrestlers and fans at his retirement party at the hall. He was my mentor and i learned a lot from the “captain”. One one occassion on a wenesday morning i was washing and cleaning my car ot prior to going to a All Star show at Hastings that night and had emptied the contents. I received a call from Brian Dixon asking if i would MC that night and gladly accepted. Upon arriving at the hall i had forgot to repack the car with my suit etc. John Harris was going to referee that evening so got in the ring at the start of the night and explained the referee had broke down he was going to be the third man and i had been asked to step in at the eleventh hour of course i only had my normal clothes with me – John Get Well Soon. |

For me he was the best mc and could organise a show better than the promoter . I recently had his farewell retirement show at Croydon transferred to to dvd , there were so many wrestlers / ex wrestlers there they could not all fit into the ring ,which shows just how popular he was. GET WELL SOON JOHN SCOTT |

Get well soon John, I remember you as always willing to chat, and one memorable night in 1983 in Cardiff when you were short a timekeeper; it made a seventeen year olds year! |

I can only reiterate what everybody else has said. My family and I have had several holidays over with John in Spain, the last of which was in June last year (when I was very heavily pregnant) and as ever he was the perfect gentlemen with his hospitality. Looking forward to seeing him again soon with the latest addition to our family. |

GET WELL SOON JOHN. I first saw John Harris in his usual role as Master of Ceremonies at The City Hall in Salisbury where he was working for Ken Joyce & Deveraux Promotions. He was one of the best if not the best MC’s that I ever came accross, he had a wonderful persona. John was one of the most respected people in British Wrestling and this showed when Brian Dixon gave him a retirement event in The Fairfield Hall in Croydon, so many current and retired Wrestlers and Officials came on that night to say ‘Happy Retirement’ to John and this goes to show just how respected he was. Although John has retired and moved to Spain it does not mean that he is forgotten about, quite often us Fans talk about him and often wonder what he is up to nowadays. John, I do hope that you are soon better and like many British Fans we hope that one day you might come back to visit us. My Love to you John and to S.B. |

I can do nothing but agree with all the wonderful comments made here about John Harris. We all agree that he was one of the best, if not THE best, MC’s ever to step into professional wrestling ring. Any evening ‘managed’ by John Harris oozed class. He brought a reassurance and credibility (my favourite wrestling word) to everything he did and had an honesty and integrity admired by all who met him. All of the fans and the wrestlers who ever met this true gentleman are very sad to hear about his current ill health and we all hope that he will make a full recovery and return very soon to his well earned retirement in the sun. |

The best MC from the “golden era” that we look back on with fond memories. Looked the part and brought class and credibility (to pinch Old David’s word) to the sport. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery. |
