Hey remember power corrupts and all...and that's one powerful duck at that size. I think it'd enjoy smushing the horses....or dunking the little horses heads underwater in some sadistic ritual quacking:
"See how you like it."
A duck that size was probably teased by the other ducks when it was little. It might be up for psychotic revenge or just generally causing destruction and sees the helpless little horses as not only yummy, but *ahem* sitting ducks.

A hundred duck-sized horses would be the more dangerous, as between them they would have 400 legs to kick the ess-aitch-one-tea out of you and 100 mouths to bite your nose off, whereas one horse-sized duck - which would probably be only the size of a Shetland pony, and therefore harmless - only has one mouth and two legs and you could put a leash and collar on it.

wow a shetland pony sized duck would be cool. I have alway only viualized a monstrous shire horse sized thing with fire in its eyes and evil in its twisted horse sized duck mind!!!
