Read this very sad fact on WWE's homepage a short time ago.
Apparently the canadian wrestler did not show up for work at the weekend, but sent some strange texts in stating there was a family emergency. On Monday, police went to check on the family, and alledgedly found the bodies of Chris, his wife Nancy and his son. They are describing this as a double murder/suicide case, and are not looking for anyone responsible outside of the home.
What a terrible tragedy... such a talented wrestler, who I think I'm right in saying, was a big fan of the Dynamite Kid.

My thoughts are with the rest of the family - and his close friends and co-workers. It is a massive shock for the wrestling community.

The news of Chris benoits death together with his wife and family is especially sad as he was undoubtedly a great Pro and also lethal shoot and amateur star.I can confirm that it is official, as Batista told Wayne Bridges last weekend in New York, that on Friday, he took his wife's life, followed by his Son on Saturday, then himself on Sunday.

Benoit started in Canada for the Stu Hart foundation in Calgary, as has been suggested, and was an ardent admirer of all things British. One of his heroes was indeed Tommy Billington- Dynamite Kid who was married into the Hart family. When he worked for the WCW, he tagged with my old pal Dave (Rocky) Taylor (son of the legendary Eric Taylor) where they became World Champions . Dave Finlay and William ( Steve) Regal also worked for this outfit and after being bought out moved to the WWE . They all lived in a walled estate called Peach Tree City, near Atlanta, together with Diamond Dallas Page, and when I owned Dropkixx used to send the young wrestlers out there for experience. Chris , Finlay, Regal and Taylor spent many hours working and training with our own Martyn Stone, Leroy Kincaid, Scott Frasier, Jade, Ash, Skye, Darren Burridge and Charlie rage to name but a few, and no-one was more helpful to the aspiring stars than Chris Benoit who was an enormous draw at that time.

Whatever personal demons he had throughout his life, cannot remove the fact that he was an awesome athlete and an incredibly nice guy with unlimited time for up and coming wrestlers. A great loss to the wrestling Profession.
