Well no apoligies from David, and rightly so. Benoit had a record for domestic violence and his wife had filed for protection before fearing forher and her sons life. It certainly not right to kill your wife but to murder your own son????? don't bare thinking about. Well said Mr Mantell.

Thanks John. I was beginning to wonder for a moment, what with FCC's posts and the ominous silence from everyone else, if people felt that somehow the fact that Benoit was himself dead therefore absolved him of guilt for this shocking and disgusting crime.

As I said before, I feel deeply for people like Frank who were under the misapprehension that they knew Chris Benoit, perhaps even regarded him as a friend and are now having to come to terms with the realisation that they did not truly know the man at all.

As for Benoit, he makes my skin crawl.

The apparent suicide of Chris Benoit in no way absolves him from the guilt of taking two innocent lives.
It was the sad final chapter to a tragic chain of events.
None of this justifies or lessens the magnitude of what Chris Benoit did, but it does mean that we shoudl be careful about writing his whole life and personality off.
I pray that Nancy and Daniel will rest in peace.
I also pray that Chris Benoit will one day receive forgiveness for what he has done, even though those close to Nancy and Daniel may never be able to forgive him, or feel it appropriate to do so.

It also highlights domestic abuse. Benoit to the outside and especilly the wrestling world comes across as such a mild mannered and placid person. It appears he was somewhat different behind closed doors as i read he and Nancy Sullivan had a volatile relationship.

Such a shame that his legacy and reputation as one of the most gifted technical, arial and hard hitting wrestlers will be tarnished.

A restrained, accurate view of events. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a despicable thing for him to have done; but there are some people who contribute to this forum who knew him personally, and might be upset by David's remarks (though I'm quite sure that it's not his intention to do so).

None of this justifies or lessens the magnitude of what Chris Benoit did, but it does mean that we shoudl be careful about writing his whole life and personality off.

I guess that's what I was getting at in my earlier postings.

I have edited down my longer comments above, as I did not want to be seen in any way to be justifying Chris Benoit's actions.
I am just so sad for all involved, including Chris Benoit, but obviously much more for Nancy and Daniel.
What a waste of 3 human lives with such potential.
