One guy I'd always hoped I'd meet during my trips to Wigan for the summer Marc Bolan convention there, but never got the chance.
A true Wigan Snakepit ripper up there with Karl Gotch and Billy Robinson who never got the international reputation of those two because of the American disdain for the lower weights. A British Wrestler in the purest sense who took pride in his athletic integrity. In short, the polar opposite of what it takes to be a WWE superstar these days.
And on top of that - as anyone who ever saw the 1989 First Tuesday item The Wigan Hold will confirm - a lovely sweet old guy.
RIP Tommy
