Rough Venues 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
On other threads many have spoken about the venues such as King's Lynn and Norwich which were known to be rough venues where the punters often caused problems.

Over the years I have been to many halls and they were among the worst, but what memories do you have of these venues.

Brian Dixon told me that Norwich Corn Exchange was second only to the Liverpool Stadium as roughest venue.
Stories of the activities at Norwich are legion.
It was always quite civilised until Dale Matin pulled out and Wrestling Enterprises took over.
It must be a testement to Brian's ability as matchmaker (as it was known then) that his bouts could cause such an emotional response.

I only knew the venue promoted by Brian although others have confirmed that it was almost as rough as the Empire!

That would be quite a book, Kate

You up for it?

Dave (published writer)

PS: Rough venues? Don't get me started! At Corby Civic Centre, they didn't even sweep the floor between bouts! The water in the seconds' buckets was from the warm tap!! Sometimes, the canteen ladies used the same tea-bag in more than one cup!!! At least twice when I went, the chairs weren't in an exactly straight line!!!! Ooh -- no wonder they pulled it down!!!!!
