LDN Legends Showdown- Broxbourne 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Anyone from here going? I keep missing the Southern reunion and would welcome the opportunity to meet any other oldies. Can't wait for Saint and Grey, should be fantastic.
I will certainly be there. I am hoping to travel up with the one and only Ian Dowland, so Sanjay beware! As you can see the “seniles” are already well represented.
I saw Steve Grey a couple of weeks ago refereeing at a Premier show of John Freemantle’s. At that time he had a back injury which prevented him from wrestling so he must be doubtful for his contest with Johnny Saint.
I did however meet none other than Blondie Barratt a few days ago at a wrestling show and he intends to be at there. He is still in great shape and can still work a good match, if asked!
How about Blondie Barratt v Johnny Kidd, just one more time. It must be Blondie’s turn for a win? This would probably be the best match of the show. However I suspect that the other oldies on that night (who already know that Johnny Kidd is on the bill) are queuing up to work with him. Johnny was always someone who could make anyone look good and I’m sure they all remember that?
Whatever happens in the ring (no silly antics from Kendo please) I am sure it will be a great evening and a unique opportunity to see all of these old stars just “one more time”.
Now you know what I look like Senile Steve (I may regret posting that picture) please come up and say hello.
Old David,Ian, (and others). Will be great to meet you, I will be the geezer in the ring as MC for the night, so please say hello. As for Steve Grey and his back, he was originally scheduled for an LDN show this Saturday and pulled out, I am really hoping he will be ok for Broxbourne. Absolutely agree with you re Johnny Kidd, he is a great bloke, and can still work at a top level, he was talking about calling it a day soon, hope he changes his mind. Funny, when I used to see him all those years ago at Brent Town Hall Wembley, never thought much of his work, but now think he is fantastic. See you at Broxbourne, interesting to see what kind of crowd comes, might have to adjust my _style_ if everyone there is as old as me!
Johnny Kidd is going to be facing Brian Maxine. Looks a decent card so far, big question though has to be what exactly Kendo Nagasaki is going to be doing.
