Thinking about the shows back in the late 80s perhaps Rick can help me where was the venue which I think was in Kent ~ where there was a riot when You, and Jimmy were working and Julia was there as your manager? Another rough night without security, I recall the lads all getting involved and getting all those on the show including myself back into the dressing room.

Titch Posted: Sat Sep 29, 2007 4:15 pm I know I have not followed this thread as I should but what do you mean that the promoter was not in on this particular occasion? On the UK*F the promoter alleges that he had no prior knowledge that the interference was going to take place, and that it was arranged independently by the two wrestlers involved. Some promoter, eh ?? I'm sure that there will be no penalties levied against these two for not sticking to the promoter's programme of events. If you remember back to when Peter Preston failed to work to the _script_ against MickMcManus, his date sheet suddenly dried up.

A true old school professional knows how to raise the crowd up and then take them down. I have been in several scuffles over the years by over exuberant punters and i certainly didn't arrange that! Today some lads just don't know when too much is too much if you get my drift.

I fail to see how, if what he says is true, it's Dan's fault that Tighe and Burridge deviated from what was supposed to happen.

I have never said it's his fault. Perhaps it's my 'old school' thinking, but when the wrestlers start to run their own version of the events without reference to the man who runs the show (and pays their wages)it really starts to smack of the lunatics running the asylum. Let's hope that messrs Tighe and Burridge are not setting a precedent with their irresponsible actions. Believe it or not I actually feel just slightly sorry for Mr Promoter, by admitting that he had no prior knowledge he has made himself sound a bit of a nugget
