New British Wrestling Board of Control II-Title fights. 4 Years, 4 Months ago
In New British Wrestling Board of Control I, I argue that regional and national championship belts should be legitimate wrestling bouts, i.e "shoot" matches fought for real.
Jonny England thinks this is unlikely but is against them anyway.

No point. Just do what was done in the old days:

[li]Everyone shoot wrestles each other on the mat in the gym regularly.
[li]Results of show matches are booked reflecting results of gym shoots
[li]Toppermost shooters get long runs with prestigious _title_s
[li]If anyone not happy, they are free to try a double-cross - if they can!

What I recall of shoot/MMA stuff I've seen it is boring!!!

British Wrestling was a lot more 'real' than American Wrestling.
Many top shooters/hookers/rippers did like to throw out the booking plans and have a legit shoot workout in the ring.
Promoters for the most part didn't really mind, as long as the shooters "put on a good show" and didn't bore the audience.

As a wise American shooter (Mark Lewin - "Crimson Mask") once said, wrestling is as real as you want it to be.
In particular, it's as real as the participants want it to be.

I prefer entertainment not sport,

Wrestling is a sport, alright.
It's just that bouts in the ring at live shows were/are mostly an exhibition of sporting skill rather than actual sporting contests.
The evolution toward more strictly entertainment is something specific to American wrestling culture post World War II.

good versus evil lol

Good versus evil just gets in the way.

Clean matches are far more interesting.

Unfortunately, the majority of consumers of live wrestling events in the UK are used to, and therefore expect, a more Americanised _style_ of wrestling. Bums on seats and all that...

Whilst I agree that this debate is pretty pointless, I think it would be interesting to find out from current, working pro's if they would be happy to "shoot/hook/rip" rather than the "exhibition" _style_.

One of the points I wanted to get across is that for example a boxing contest can be over in a short period of time and the difference being the predermined nature of pro wrestling is that you get 'value for money'.

I have seen a UFC video where the build up and interviews took uo more time than the contests and the contests consisted of knocking someone to the ground then a struggle and finishing them off.
I found this much less entertaining than predermined pro wrestling and if wrestling was to be real it would be like this
