Yes, he's a 1PW trainee I believe. Still, that was a completely ridiculous affair.

I'd like to clarify that Ricc had no part to do with the running of the show in question. The fact that 4 or 5 people 'knew' it was going to happen does not mean that it was a planned part of the show. Perhaps to the 4 or 5 people who 'knew' about it, but certainly not to the people that matter, being myself and the referee, Andy Quildan. As such, it is not a "work" or a "spot", it was stupid. Other people who encouraged this to happen have already apologised and the footage will never see the light of day.

I am not in anyway criticising IPW UK. I have visited their website many times and they seem to know what they are doing. They have produced some good footage of their matches and I have enjoyed them. Like Ian, i don't like the use of weapons. However going back to the 60'' there seemed to be a lot of blood in matches in those day. Was it a hall in Wigan called the blood bath? I am still doubful about the injuries though. I can't believe pros would risk injuring an opponent in this manner.

On the subject of chair shots, has anyone heard Parson's & Naylor's American Wrestling in a Nutshell? Great satire, I quote:

"I pick up a _meta_l chair to hit my opponents with. Then put it down and pick up the plastic one I am supposed to use."

Shame Chris Benoit never heard that show.
