I remember asking once "What that funny smell was at ringside?" , " Its where the women and the poofs ( remember this was in the 70's and Gays were anything but gay) piss themselves with excitement " came the reply from a man I later found out to be Kent.
Fond memories of that silky voice , and that old fashioned mike looked like it was part of his face. Yes Maj it is almost like the passing of an era , so its up to all you young guys to pick up the baton and run with it . To keep the memory of people like Kent alive for future generations by keeping British wrestling the best there is , the best there was and the best there ever will be.
I dont really know who he is but its always sad to see someon pass on.
I have a question which I hope the answer isnt what I think it is. I sore on the news the other days that a man from Nantwich died rock climbing. His name was Mike Weaver and I know he comes from Crewe and thats pretty much Nantwich so I was wondering is anyone knew if that Mike Weaver is the wrestling Mike Weaver or someother poor unfortunate bloke
In reply to Simon Eatons post, the wrestling Mike Weaver is alive and well because i was wrestling him at Crewe on saturday and i have seen him today as well.Sympathy goes the family of the person that was killed with the same name. Also i would like to add that it was sad to hear of the death of Kent Walton who served wrestling well for over 30 years in the World Of Sport days. 8)
