Although it is to do with Regal and the WWE etc I thought a section of it was a nice touch for the interview - a few sections about his time in England and on British TV:

My best friend - Yes, we still speak to each other every few weeks. I think it was 1987 when we started tagging together, he is somewhat of a mentor to me, he's a bit older than I am, he had a lot of really good trainers so when I first went to All Star he used to teach me a lot of things, he helped me a lot. Then we started tagging together as the Golden Boys, I had long hair then and used to wear all this gold stuff, we looked like overweight drag queens. The most embarrassing thing that happened on English TV was the match against Kendo Nagasaki and Blondie Barrington, Kendo apparently hypnotised Barrington, it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever seen, I was bent over laughing in the corner, I did not want to be part of it but I was, it was horrendous.

Shame he couldn't get Blondie Barretts name right and I'm surprised that Regal should speak so badly about Kendo and the hypnotism match. He must have a very bad memory about his time in British wrestling because he seems to have forgotten his part in surely the worst main event shown on ITV Wrestling , the Christmas 1986 tag challenge when he tagged with Big Daddy and Richie Brooks against Giant Haystacks, Syd Cooper and Charles McGee.

If you actually looked at the article there were a few more typos i.e. Brian Dickson rather than Dixon but then again these could have been done by the interviewer - it is a bit of a hard job after conducting an interview listening to it back on a dictaphone and getting everything exactly correct with background noise etc.

Kendo actually 'hypnotised' Brookside ( Regal's own tag partner ), not Barrett/Barrington.
If the transcipt is correct, then probably Tony was correct as well !

I watched the match on tv at the time, and I also have it on tape (on the Mayhem and Mystery compilation, second hand copies are pretty easy to get hold of), and it truly was the most embarrassing thing ever. Forget Big Daddy, the real reason Greg Dyke cancelled wrestling on tv was because of this match!!

The Kendo hypnotism match was shown on October 15th 1988 and wrestling actually finished on ITV less than two months later so I would have thought that the decision to cancel the ITV contract was taken long before this match was ever screened.
