I don't hate FWA it's just some of the people working there are very protective and get mad at criticism. If I had any reason to hate FWA, its the proposed working agreement they are supposed to have with XPW, although they probably have more sense than that.

I've met people that have worked for FWA and they are humans and nice people. I've also met people before they have left Hammerlock to FWA and liked them then as well.

Hammerlock, TWA and All Star dont get mentioned in the mags anywhere as much as FWA does even though Hammerlock has the TV deal, All Star draws more a week than FWA does in a month and TWA uses pretty much the same talent as FWA anyway. I think posts on these forum are becasue we can have intellegent conversation about the British wrestling industry and do not just become 'Powerslam' marks, I've talked to tons of people who seem to think FWA is thes biggest thing in wrestling yet they have never been to an FWA show or seen one on tape.

I have seen FWA shows on tape and look forward to seeing them live someday but I dont think that any promotion in this country can match Hammerlock for its British talent. I think All Star puts on one hell of a show, whether your 7 or 77, the snazy venues, fireworks and North American workers make it a could buy at a tenner.

Ive been to hammerlock shows and i used to train with hammerlock (hence a bit bitter!!!) but no1 beats FWA in atmos! the whole crowd is always into it.

I know wrestlers are not contracted to anyone I was stating that people like the wrestlers I mentioned most wrestle regulary for the FWA and people slag off FWA but why? They are just another promotion making a name for themselves whether you like them or not they know there market and they wouldn`t have lasted as long as they have.

Like I always have said that for British Wrestling to make it big we need to support any shows by any promoter because one day there could be more than NWA-UK Hammerlock with a TV deal and that would be great competition to any overseas promotion....but how can you say the wrestlers you mentioned wrestle mainly for FWA?, they don't run nearly enough shows in a year to support anybody. Now I'm not knocking them they happen to nice people and I get along well with them...What they do have is a very different product from pro-wrestling as we know it in the UK...they promote more of a high spot type of show with not too much wrestling.and yes you'r right they do know their market, but thats exactly what it is, "it's their market"!, not All Stars, not The Wrestling Alliances and not WAW's....do you get what I'm saying to you?....What would have happened to most of the wrestlers that FWA brought into the business and they were not allowed to wrestle for ASWand others?..I can tell you, they'd be long gone, because the product they were brought up on was and is unsustainable, so please don't go on bleating about how good FWA's wrestlers are, since a) they're any promoters wrestlers and b) they neede the likes of ASW and others to develope their careers....Power to the FWA they know what they like and they like doing it, now if they decided to really be a big p_layer_ in the UK then they should open up and run 300+ shows per year like we do and then you can say yes! The FWA are a promotion to be reckoned with (in the high spot) business... :wink:

I have to say coming home this evening to a topic with this _title_, I was extremely worried. Having read through it, I have to say it's cheered me up no end! Thanks everyone for making this a great topic!

Have to throw in my bits. In senses I can agree with everyone. Maybe some people are a bit against FWA, but as has already said there are people who hold resentments against Hammerlock, TWA, ASW etc... Even I hold resentments but I don't let them affect the news reporting. Although comapnies run different _style_s of shows, they esentially use the same workers. It's going to be more a love/hate thing to what _style_ the show is than towards particular workers.

As regards seeing a variety of promotions - Hampshire/Dorset area is extremely good for seeing different companies. TWA in Bournemouth and Southampton, ASW in Portsmouth and Fareham, Hammerlock in Andover, Premier in Gosport, FWA Academy in Portsmouth. The list goes on. I can understand with not being able to drive, but the shows are there if people can get to them! Personally out of those venues next lined up dates I know about I'm probably going to miss two of them. Think the others should be enough to fill my live wrestling appetite

Shouldnt all organisations be working together! for one aim and that to get British Wrestling up and running, reconised and respected!

Then all the bitchin can begin, and the competition, the U.K. Market is no where near big enough for people to say this organisation has a monopoly, or they are way better than the rest!

All organisations have to start somewhere, FWA and Hammerlock started way before the rest, so we have got to give smaller companies time to get established!

The simple thing is

WE EITHER MAKE IT TOGETHER, OR WE BREAK IT TOGETHER!
