With the wealth of wrestling talent in our rings from the 1960's through to the 1990's ( never saw any live shows before the mid-1960's ) it's a very tall order to pick just ten. The more you think about it, the more names appear i your mind's eye. Anyway, here's my top ten, chosen because they made the most positive impact at the shows that I saw:
1. Adrian Street
2. Marty Jones
3. Dave Finlay
4. Mark Rocco
5. John Quinn
6. Johnnie Kincaid
7. Zoltan Boschik
8. Kendo Nagasaki ( would have been higher if I only counted the period before his first sabbatical )
9. Mike Marino.
10. Judo Al Hayes.
To compile a list of only ten means that the following great wrestlers are excluded, amongst others:
Danny Collins, Ritchie Brookes, Johnnie Saint, Doc Dean, Dave Taylor, Albert Wall, Tony St Clair, Wayne Bridges, Geoff Portz and Tibor Szakacs.
I'll stop now before I think of more
