Firstly, not questioning your knowledge, but where in Birmingham was that final - I think it was Burnley. Trivial stuff but i used to attend the Birmingham shows. I have it on a tape somewhere.

Secondly - who was in the Jets team. I dont recall them.

Something like Cocks Moors Wood leisure centre, but in Birmingham anyway. There were two shows filmed from there the one on May 7th featuring the Golden Grappler final plus Pat Roach v Colonel Brody and Gil Singh v The Emperor. The other one was on June 4th and had the Grand Prix belt heat Alan Kilby v Steve Logan, Butcher Bond v Terry Rudge and a triple tag Steve Grey/Rick Wiseman/Johnny Kidd v Mal Sanders/Syd Cooper/Zoltan Boscik.
The Jets were Alan Kilby, Tom Tyrone, Pat Patton and Steve Logan and they were featured in a couple or more team tournaments on ITV from early 1982 onwards. They all wore the same gear including a natty vest emblazoned with 'The Jets' on it.

Re: Skull Murphy winning the Grand Prix belt, I remember him beating Johnny Wilson due to the fact he wrestled a clean match. His father (Roy 'Bull' Davies) had passed away a few days previously, and this was his tribute to him.

If I remember correctly, the Southport trophy was called the "Combat Challenge Shield" - only time I remember seeing it on TV was Rocco beating Jones after Rocco stripped one of the corners of its padding and Jones rammed his shoulder into it.
