North / South Divide - What Do You Think ? 5 Years, 2 Months ago
Ive worked recently on shows for Premier _base_d in the south,FCW and AIWF in the Midlands and RBW in Nottingham. Is it me or do u think that most forums on the internet favour sothern _base_d promotions.I know one or two forums are _base_d mostly down south but think its only fair that promotions up north should get their fair share of publicity.Ive noticed that when results are published on midlands or northen shows they disapear quite fast down the page.Would be interested what people think. 8)

your ending confuse me :? are you saying that that south is getting no promoters/tions or the north/midlands. Cos south is london therefore all things happen in london, so it must have its own scene

But the northern scene is on the up and up, theres just more goin on south than there is north, so if north get get southerners to come up, do shows, better publicity all round

By definition, 'the internet' is going to respond more to shows that draw fans from a wide geographic area (as the internet fan _base_ doesn't all live in one place).

Shows in the SouthEast are logically more likely to get fans from a wider area as more people live within say an hour of London than in any one hour radius in the rest of the country.

For example, I live in Manchester, which is the best place outside the South East for access to other cities (within an hour I can get to a circle from Liverpool to Preston to Sheffield to Stoke), but even though there are plenty of shows up here, they are nowhere near as accessible as the local ones for people in the SouthEast.

I'll never forget the classic when WWE held a PPV in Newcastle and several southerners commented that that would be easy for people in Manchester to get to...

I think there are more promotions down south than in the north, but recently with X Wrestling and a couple of other upstart promotions the North is showing some promise.

FWA, All-star and NWA all seam to do regular cards the south and only do shows in the north on tours, maybe once or twice a year.

If the North want shows they can promote their own, cannot blame southern _base_d promoters not wanting to drive hundreds of miles to put on shows for people with strange accents.
