Just out of interest, how did the 1stop team come up with the current Hall of Fame? who decided who should be in there and under what criteria? I am just curious, that's all.

So please tell us what the criteria in fact were in assembling the 1Stop Hall of Fame.
Thanks for responding, but could you explain how those 20 names came to be selected for the 1Stop Hall of Fame? Linde Caulder and Farmer Johnny Allan were obviously very appreciated by those who selected them, in the way Kendo Nagasaki or Les Kellett or Bert Assirati may have been selected by others.
This is the problem with this and other threads: too much just banging down names; not enough explaining why those names merit consideration.

The initial hall of fame was organised by myself and I tried to feature a cross section of wrestlers over the years. The initial plan was to add more names every 6-8 months or so, which would be elected into the hall of fame by the readers of 1StopWrestling. As time went on, the site really took off and the HOF became neglected. Over the last 5 months I have spent a fat amount of cash researching the hall of fame and meeting up with various people and obtaining various documents, the results of which shall be seen in the release 2 of 1stopwrestling. On that release, we shall be inducting 10 more British wrestling legends into the Hall Of Fame.
I have been looking on here and there have been some great names listed. So what I shall do is in the next week or so I shall be compiling a list of prospective HOF'ers. The criteria of which, will be similar to our own awards. Each HOF'er must have contributed to, and been an ambassador of British wrestling. It is as simple as it sounds. They must have worn the heart of british wrestling on their sleeves and shown it to the world.
In compiling the list I will be sifting through this discussion and noting the names in here, also if you have any other suggestions please message/email me. I shall give it two weeks from today (also by then we should have sorted out the 2004 award winners!).

Thanks Brett, that's much clearer.
I presume we are not excluding those who never went abroad?
And limiting it to British _base_d wrestlers: so Billy Torontos or Masambula could be in, but Quasimodo or Jean Ferre would be out. Right?

Thank-you Brett. One name not often mentioned on here but worthy of consideration is Bulldog Bill Garnon. He travelled to the USA in the 1930s and had success on both sides of the Atlantic. He even holds victory over a masked Count Bartelli!
