just quickly:
Jack, I was using the word "smart" in the US wrestling biz sense. (As in "smarten-up" "smarts" "smart marks" etc.)

Hope that should clarify.

The most resonant musicians of all time? Bach, Mozart, Debussey and the like.

Jack you may enjoy better wrestling but I'm afraid your music analogy doesn't work. Dylan's tunes are basically shallow, simple chords and lyrics which appealed to the youth of the time and as it seems, the youth of today due to the 60s nostalgia created. Sure they might be enjoyable, but as an overall piece of music. I'd like to see Dylan write an orchestral piece for many instruments conveying as much emotion, subtelty and everything wrapped up in a symphony by anyone of the composers I mentioned above.

Sure, Dylan may have told a "story" in his "music" but it is again shallow, and how can that be really good, let alone considered to be some of the most influential music of the time. Many musicians can tell a story though words, it takes a great musician to tell a story through the music itself. Dylan and the like don't show that.

Your taste in wrestling may be for the most indepth, complex, deep wrestling, but as music fan you're about the equivalent of a fan of early ECW
