Kent Walton 6 Years, 2 Months ago
I don't know about the rest of you, but I definitely think there should be a space in the Hall Of fame for Kent Walton. After all, he was pretty much the lynchpin of ITV's wrestling coverage for the whole of its 33-year run, and it's perhaps arguable that the way he described certain wrestlers helped to make them the household names that they became.

What do you all think?

Agreed. His commentary provided a credibility and legitimacy that the skills of a lesser individual might not have given British wrestling. There should definitely be a place for him in the HOF.

33 years service to pro wrestling certainly deserves some type of credit. I think Kent should be inducted into the Hall of Fame as he became an institution on saturday teatimes to many wrestling fans. He was a fixture and fitting of the industry just like the McManus', Kellet's etc

Absolutely.

Kent Walton was a superb announcer, very convincing and got across without resorting to hyperbole. He clearly had a real respect for the business.

And you just have to respect a commentator who's prepared to criticize a bout if it's not up to scratch - "Hmmm, not too much wrestling just yet". He knew much of his audience had fairly sophisticated tastes in terms of wrestling and he talked to them accordingly - as a connosieur of wrestling skill, rather than a gung-ho cheerleader.
