Going on to Bigger Things? 6 Years ago
Just thinking of the old days and people talk of Jushin Liger, did any other visitors to our shores go onto bigger things i.e
Mississppi Mauler
john Quinn
Steve Adonis
Bobby Bold Eagle
Kwik Kik Lee
Some canadians Brick Wall or something

I remember seeinga young Owen and Bret Hart over here but did any others come back reincarnated as anyone on WWE/WCW?

Nice to see Dave Taylor doing well out there along with Dave Finlay.

Mississppi MaulerKamala, for his sins
john QuinnHad already done his bigger things as the Kentucky butcher in the WWWF in 1976
Steve Adonis What did he go on to do?

You forgot to mention Satoru "Sammy Lee/Tiger Mask I" Sayama.

Here's one for you. Funaki. IN-DEED!!! Was Fuji Yamada's tag partner in 1990 as Flying Funaki.

Andre the Giant - as Jean Ferre. Feuded with Kendo Nagasaki in 1969.

the great Karl Gotch - say no more!

Chris Benoit dropped by for a spell in about '86.

Akira Nogami dropped by in about '93 as a Great Muta impersonator.

A whole triple-tag match worth of Puro Stars popped into Croydon in early '96.

Sky Walker, a big American in '88 who thought the British were midgets but couldn't understand our rules, later became Nitron, bodyguard for Woman in WCW in '89. (I may be wrong but I think he was also the *other* Master Blaster alongside Kevin Nash in 1990)

Maybe I mis-read somewhere, but Akira Maeda, the pioneer of shoot-_style_ wrestling (and the company, UWF, which did away with a lot of the bad [unclean finishes] tendencies)

I was rather pleased to see Owen Hart on a tape I got the other day. Looking forward to watching it now considering British wrestling history isn't my strong point, that's for others on the site!

Also nice to see Taylor get a mention. Was a thoroughly nice bloke when I was around him for a couple of weeks during the summer, and deserves a lot of credit for the work he is doing at the moment.

The obvious omossion so far is Steve Regal from Blackpool, who went on to bigger ( but definitely not greater) things as Lord William Regal.
The yanks could not cope with his forearm smash/uppercut though.

From some excellent feuding with Haystacks in our miniscule rings to poncing about in the WWE/F. A good career move maybe, but persistently making yourself look a prize twat on TV ? I wonder.

Got a question about William Regal which I've been wondering about for ages now:

Does he throw a right or a left handed clothesline?

Whenever I see a match of his I always watch for it but I'm either very unobservant or he doesn't throw one.

I'm asking because hes British trained therefore always work on the left but he wrestles in America and the Yanks use their right arm for clotheslines etc.

~Cherry, xxx

P.s Sorry to take this a little off topic
