Does america influence british wrestling? 5 Years ago

firstly thank you for all the help with my old post, about old school and new school... very helpful thank you. Next i have to broaden the question and specify certain things... With evidence from FWA and a few other companies in britain following the _style_ of the core american products, WCW, ECW and WWE (all under one roof now obviously) ... Against evidence such as RBW who favour the more traditional British _style_ of wrestling... do you think overall america influences britain and our wrestling product?.... any comments or facts would be helpful thank you.

Thing is the old _style_ of uk wrestling failed to capture the imagination..entertainment is good, but just like the US,no doubt there are promotions offering a more mat _base_d product.
Im sure I read an interview with Christopher Daniels where he said the wrestler in Spiderman wasnt him??

lol - I think there could be some wires crossed here! Chris Daniels did the stunts in Spiderman the movie. The wrestler in Spiderman the movie was Randy Savage.
I think Tom was referring to a character within the ring of British wrestling matches.

A lot of british companys now seem to be a cross between british and american _style_s. A lot of moves and gimics bein done in britain have been taken from america but most of the wrestling _style_ is still british.
