Re: LETS organise a real HALL OF FAME 3 Years, 8 Months ago

All seems a bit too recent for my liking.
All Time Greats:
Hackenschmidt Assirati Garfield
Notice how first names are not necessary with the true greats. That's a sure sign.
From the modern era:
Kendo Nagasaki Mick McManus Masambula
From the recently deceased:
Les Kellett The Great Bartelli Mal Kirk (anyone who dies in the ring deserves a special mention)
Visiting stars:
John Guil Don Quasimodo Georges Gordienko
Unsung Heroes:
Sid Cooper John Naylor Andy Robin
Special services to Wrestling:
Mr Joe D'Orazio Ray Plunkett Kent Walton
and in time-honoured fashion, last up it's tag-team-time:
The Hells Angels The Black Diamonds The Royals
Now, we've got seven categories here, just like the seven weight classses.
All we need now are Commonwealth, European and even Southern Area Halls of Fame!

OK I stayed out of this because I didn't really see the point - as asked previously, what is a Hall of Fame?
Anglo Italian has given a bit of order to this, so I'm inspired to join in, but not inspired to be creative so I'll follow his format:
All Time Greats: Hackenschmidt - the man who brought wrestling into the modern era Assirati - arguably Britain's best ever heavyweight Jack Pye - because he became a household name without television
Modern Era: Billy Robinson George Kidd Mick McManus
Recently Deceased: Count Bartelli Pat Roach Bill Joyce
Visiting Stars: Lou Thesz Peter Maivia Billy Two Rivers
Unsung Heroes: Alan Wood Peter Preston Eric Taylor
Special Services: Billy Riley Kent Walton
Tag Teams: The Royal Brothers McManus & Logan Alan Dennison & Sid Cooper

No Melvin - you don't have to be dead to be enshrined into (for example) the NFL Hall Of Hame, simply retired for 5 years.
Thanks, mate

Good list, mate, but if you have the Dirty Dennisons you've surely got to consider Barnes and Street?
And I always though Finlay and Murphy were a good latter-day team in the McManus/Logan mould.

l am willing to accept emails and organise a Hall of fame - what do others think ?
So, top, are we going anywhere with this? You've had lots of suggestions, mostly in a disorderly array. Do you want to bring some order to this? We await your further instructions.
