Up until now I thought I had over come some of the hardest obstacles Id ever come across. I had been through more that what some people may go through in a lifetime and that is what has made me stronger. Hell, I need all the strength I can find to get through what Im going through now though. Being able to watch wrestling was one of the very few luxuries I had as I child, which is why as I grew older all I wanted to do watch wrestling 24/7 and when I got even older all I wanted to do, was wrestle myself. In a dream Im going to be the greatest wrestler to grace the squared circle in reality Im just happy to learn everything there is to know about wrestling and be the best wrestler I can be. However in the few short months that I had been learning to wrestle it has also taught me a lot more about life and how the younger generation seemed to be getting so more vicious and selfish with each passing moment. I have the greatest respect for every man and woman who step into the ring to take the risks to do what they love. However I am learning that respect is being lost within the wrestling industry through the younger generation. It scares me to think that in years to come when Im sat with my children there will be no respect at all and no real admiration for them wrestlers because the generations will of wiped it out and replaced it with greed and selfishness. Not only is the respect for the squared circle falling apart but the respect between peers, whether they are on your team or the opposition. Anyone who is a wrestler will know how hard it is to climb into the ring and take the chance. Anyone who has wrestled will understand it isnt easy no matter how long you have been doing it. Anyone who has wrestled will know you need the trust and support of all your peers no matter whose team they are on. Unfortunately, I can see that because you are on the other team you are not classed as a peer, in fact youre not classed as anything other than the scum and rejects of wrestling. People fail to see that one day they could come face to face with you in the ring and you have to be able to trust that person with your life. We may train at different places and we both may have different opinions on the methods of training but these are the types of opinions best kept to ones self. Each to there own is what I say and if you dont feel confident with the person who is training you then you shouldnt get into the ring with them, because your putting their life on the line just as much as your own. They may have a better trainer than you but that doesnt make them a better wrestler than you, vice versa. Everyones opinion is different and thats whats makes us individuals. If we where all to share the same opinion what kind of world would we live in? Not a very interesting one thats for sure. But the same can be said for wrestling. You can stand there and say youre the best wrestler since slice bread but the person stood right next to you could think that youre awful. I may think that some wrestlers on the other team are brilliant, yet their own team mates may think there awful but thats my individual opinion based on what Ive seen of the wrestlers. Opinions based on individuality dont seem to count anymore though, the latest craze amongst new generation wrestlers is get the tar and brush out and tar other wrestlers based on other peoples opinions, or the team name they wrestle under. People question everything you do and others just plain out slander you before theyve met you or seen what you can do but because you dont wrestle for a top named promotion you must not want to be a professional wrestler, you must not have the dedication to do what it takes to perform in that ring. Everyone has there own definition on what dedication means making it sound a lot more complicated that it is. Dedication is simple and easily defined when it comes to wrestling. Being dedicated means you turn up every week on time and you train from beginning to end giving it everything you can and still managing to find that little bit more to push yourself harder than the week before. There is enough fighting going on the world without us, fellow wrestlers fighting one and other. Its time people remembered why we all get into that ring and remember the respect we have for wrestlers on TV is the same we should have one and other. Stop looking at people through other peoples eyes and start looking through your own you may see things a lot more clearly then.
